8 Shows You Should Binge-Watch (Like Today)

I gotta admit, I’m a reality TV whore. Always have been, always will. But from time to time I’ll start a scripted show and literally watch nothing else until it’s finished. Like right now—I’m literally writing this while watching Good Trouble. It’s called productivity Karen, look it up.

While working on the launch of Sticker Styled (eep!) I had a lot of time to binge some shows, old and new. I clearly have a taste: boss babes navigating life, relationships and their careers. What can I say? I relate! If you’re looking for some new shows to watch, I gotchu! Here’s what I’m currently binging or recently finished:

1. Younger

You know how Hulu just starts a new show after you’ve finished another one? Well that’s how I discovered Younger a few years ago, and fuhhh I’m so glad I did! I started mindlessly watching it while I cleaned the apartment, but I was hooked. It follows Liza, a 40-something single mom who can’t get a job due to her age. She then pretends to be 26 and gets hired. She even gets a sexy AF boyfriend but oh yeah, he thinks she’s actually in her twenties. It’s made by the SATC creator, so it’s got that fun, NYC vibe and cheeky humor. The 6th season just aired and thankfully there are more to come! I just binged this for the 4th time (no shame) so you could say I’m addicted + I need to know…Team Charles or Team Josh?!

2. Sex And The City

After watching Younger for the millionth time, I decided I *naturally* had to watch SATC next! I had never seen it all the way through consecutively, so I can finally check that off the list! Obviously a classic. It’s funny how I watched this in high school thinking I was 100% a Carrie…to which I can now confidently say, helllll naw. She honestly pisses me off more times than not. Regardless, gotta love it!

3. The Handmaid’s Tale

Alex and I are probably the last humans to have started this show, but in case you haven’t hopped on the bandwagon yet, DO IT. It’s so dark and disturbing that we could only watch an episode a night (followed by something lighthearted like Seinfeld) but damn is it good. Praise be betch.

4. The Bold Type

OMG love this one! I was looking for similar shows to Younger and this was on my recommended, so I gave it a go. It’s about 3 friends who work at a magazine in NYC (inspired by Cosmo) and navigate their careers in the publishing world. They touch on some important social issues and taboo topics which is refreshing! Another fun and upbeat show that’s easy to binge.

5. Good Trouble

Currently watching this one! I think there’s only 2 seasons so far, but it’s a spinoff of The Fosters. Apparently. I’ve never seen an episode of that, but again, it was a similar title to The Bold Type so I gave it a go! I didn’t know who some of the characters or their back stories were, but whatever. This one takes place in DTLA and follows a group of roommates, mainly the two sisters from The Fosters. I’ve never seen a show that touches on so many social issues simultaneously. It can be a lot to digest with all the storylines going on and flashbacks happening, but so far it’s pretty good!

6. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

OH MY GOD why aren’t more people talking about this show yet?! Probably because not everyone has Prime Video, but I swear, you need to get it just to watch this show. Hands down one of my favorite shows I’ve ever seen, and we’ve only been *blessed* with two seasons so far. This show follows a boss bitch housewife turned stand-up comic in the 50’s. She’s hilarious and I am so invested in the storyline! Season 3 comes out in December, plus it was created by the same woman who created Gilmore Girls so need I say more?

7. Euphoria

Okay technically I couldn’t binge this because I watched it live week by week and there’s only one season…but it felt wrong not to include it ya know? Everyone and their mother has been talking about this, but for good reason. It follows a drug addict and a group of teens and honestly, thank gah my HS experience was nothing like this?! If I were a mom, I’d be terrified lmao. But it’s very raw and relevant, despite a lot of scenes (for me at least) being pretty hard to swallow. I didn’t know if I could watch the second episode since the first made me sick to my stomach, but I’m glad I stuck with it. I have a feeling this will inspire the most Halloween costumes/makeup this year!

8. Big Little Lies

Lastly, another show I hopped on reaaal late to. Like a few months ago late. I know, I know but the initial hype of a show usually turns me off. I’m annoying. Anywho, I’m now caught up and LOVE this one! It centers around a murder, but you really get into everyone’s individual storylines. I liked season 1 better, but I have a feeling season 2 was leading up to an amazing season 3. A MUST!

Have you watched any of these? We need to discuss!! Also, let me know if you’d like to see a post on my all-time favorite shows or movies! Or a reality TV edition?? The possibilities are endless my friends. Would love to know your recs as well so comment your must-sees below!

I loved younger, good trouble, and the bold type! I’m definitely on team josh! Some shows you need to watch are the good doctor which is a show about a surgeon it’s on Hulu. The next show is a million little things which is about a suicide and what the friends and family do after the suicide which is on Hulu too! My last recommendation is good girls which is about 3 mons who are sisters and their best friend who hold up a grocery store and this ones on Netflix! I’d like to see a post on your all time favorite shows.
