Woo, it’s almost the 4th of July! Somehow it manages to creep up on me every single year. Once again, I have no plans set in motion. Typical. I was planning on spending the holiday with my boo thang Sarah Belle in Nashville, but Alex and I didn’t book our flights in case his job started by then, since it falls on a Tuesday this year. What do you guys think, should I be a rebel and fly off to Nashville for a few days? Doesn’t sound like a bad deal to me!
All week I’ll be posting some of my favorite outfit ideas for the 4th! But of course, you can totally rock these looks all summer long. This first look is perfect if you don’t care to dress too crazy for the holiday. A step up from the predictable american flag print, this flowy top paired with your favorite denim is the perfect look for any activity you have planned for the day. This top features flared sleeves, so it’s great even in mega-hot temps. I also love how you can tie it like a bow (as shown) or wrap it around and tie it in the back. I wore a matching red bikini top underneath, so you can rep your suit and shorts on the boat as well!
Speaking of…these shorts though! These have got to be my new favorite denim. They’re high rise with a raw edged hem, and are so comfortable and flattering! I finished the look with a vintage western belt, flashy blue shades, and some saucy platform wedges. Hell, I’ll be rockin’ this outfit all summer long, I can promise you that!
How are you spending your fourth? Some of my favorite memories growing up were going to our cabin up north, watching the boat parade on the dock, then heading over to the town parade to enjoy the floats and buckets of candy. Of course, those strenuous activities were followed by stuffing my face with pizza and watching the fireworks display in town, all while getting eaten alive by mosquitos. Come to think of it, being on the boat back home sounds all too perfect…decisions!
